Dog Sledding

Mushing Montana

Mushing your way through snow-packed terrain and across frozen lakes to a hot springs soak or backcountry yurt is an experience like no other. Dog-sledding adventures allow you to reach wild places that you couldn't access otherwise, and marvel at the power and spirit of the huskies. While snowmobile and snowcoach rides have their perks, there is something especially magical about witnessing the dogs' exhilaration, and the bond created between the sled dogs and their mushers.

Luckily, you don't have to be a professional musher to explore Yellowstone Country by dog sled—outfitters offer half-day, full-day and overnight guided excursions. Group adventures include post-mush storytelling by the fire with a hot drink and memories made.
