Rodeos

An American West Tradition

Rodeos

Wander among boots, buckles and big ol' cowboy hats while you experience traditions of the American West at an authentic Montana rodeo. From professional rodeos to ranch rodeos, sit in the stands among the locals and get a taste of true Montana cowboy culture.

Red Lodge has their Home of Champions Rodeo, featuring the ever-popular rodeo clowns, a daily parade, rodeo royalty and Mutton Bustin' for the kids. The Livingston Roundup Rodeo—one of the largest professional rodeos in the state—has some of the country's best rough stock. Cowboy up for bull riding, saddle bronc competitions, roping, steer wrestling, bareback riding and barrel racing.

A trip to Montana wouldn't be complete without getting a new pair of cowboy boots or a new cowboy hat. Arrive in style to the rodeos thanks to local western apparel outfitters. Hit up Boot Barn, Carter's Boots and Repair, Head West, and Rocky Mountain Hat Company in Bozeman. While in Livingston, mosey into Calamity's Boutique or Bob's Outdoor. Out in Red Lodge, Moo Country will set you up with the perfect rodeo outfit.
