Dome Mountain Wildlife Management Area

Dome Mountain Wildlife Management Area encompasses 3,770 acres. Management goal: To maintain the quality and quantity of vegetation in an improving condition on historic elk winter range. Hunting opportunities: Seasonal opportunities to hunt elk and mule deer. Wildlife Management Area offers access to adjacent Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness Area. Wildlife viewing: Year-round birdwatching and wildlife photography opportunities. Elk and mule deer can be viewed on portions of the WMA visible from Dailey Lake. Eagles, hawks, loons, swans and a variety of ducks can be seen on the game range. Other recreation: Dailey Lake is a popular windsurfng and fishing area. The lake supports rainbow trout, yellow perch and walleyes. The area also offers excellent hiking and horseback riding opportunities. Dailey Lake has a large no-fee, no-reservations campground for overnight use.
