A Note To Visitors
We encourage you to explore all that Montana’s Yellowstone Country has to offer, and please recreate responsibly:
- • Know before you go. Plan ahead, and check websites and social media pages for businesses and events, and call before you go.
- • Stay on the trails. Heed road closures, recreation alerts and signs.
- • Pack it in, pack it out. If you brought it in, make sure to take it with you when you go.
- • Practice wildlife safety. Keep your distance from wild animals, and pack bear spray—and know how to use it.
- • Prevent wildfires. Most wildfires are human caused. Watch for signage indicating fire danger levels and never start a fire in dry conditions. If you do start a fire, bring enough water to extinguish it completely—hint: it’s more water than you think.
- • Leave it as you find it. Remember these areas are wild and do your best to leave the places you see undisturbed. Don’t pick up rocks, flowers, or other natural elements for mementos. We have plenty of gift shops for that!
- • Play it safe. Know your limits when it comes to activities and don’t take chances with the weather and outdoor conditions.
- • Love Montana back. Please be kind to workers and locals who call this remarkable place home.
