This 3 bedroom/2 bath home sleeps 6 comfortably and is perfectly set up for families, couples and small groups. Decorated in rustic, western style, with tasteful furniture, artwork and well-appointed amenities throughout, the Shields River Hideaway will feel like your home away from home.
The master bedroom has a queen bed and en suite bathroom; the second bedroom has a queen bed; the third bedroom has two singles. Each bedroom has large built-in closets and a tall dresser. Each bathroom has a full-size bath and shower.
The kitchen has ample counter space and is famously well equipped. It is flanked by a large breakfast bar with 4 bar stools and opens to the formal dining area. The dining and adjacent living area both boast magnificent picture windows facing the garden and a grove of cottonwood trees beyond.
The living room fireplace (gas-fired) warms the house and creates cozy ambiance during winter. The comfy leather couches in the living room are a great place to enjoy a good book or movie from our small library, watch some television or put your feet up after day of activity (or inactivity!).
The large outdoor deck is an ideal place to enjoy morning coffee, a peaceful afternoon hour or evening cocktails. It is furnished with a gas BBQ and plenty of comfortable seating options - cushioned lounge chairs and dining table/chairs for outdoor meals.
Situated on 19 private acres in the Shields Valley, including private river frontage on the Shields River, the property features delightful garden walking trails and many charming places to relax, explore and enjoy, including a hammock by the river for morning or afternoon naptime. Sightings of animal and birdlife are abundant - deer, wild turkey, bald-headed eagles and beavers are frequent visitors, we have even welcomed a moose.
We are pleased to include the following in your rental: wireless high-speed internet; DISH TV (200 channels); DVD player; CD player; laundry room (with deep sink, washer & wash detergent, dryer, iron, ironing board and ample hanging space), kitchen (with electric range and oven, microwave, dishwasher & detergent, coffee maker & grinder, blender, mixer, good selection of bake-ware, basic cooking ingredients and a large collection of tasteful matching table and glassware).
In the summer enjoy fishing from your own private access to the Shields River right out the backdoor. The home is also less than 2 miles from the nearest public access to the Yellowstone River and close to many creeks for additional fishing access. Horseback riding is available nearby and there are endless opportunities to enjoy our beautiful rivers - floating, tubing and white water rafting - right in your backyard.
Winter fun includes cross-country skiing, sledding and snowshoeing from your doorstep, as well as downhill skiing and snowmobiling within reasonable driving distance.
The property is 35 miles from Chico Hot Springs in Paradise Valley and 65 miles from the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park.
The nearby historic town of Livingston has fine-dining establishments, cafes, bars and a great selection of family dining options. The shopping offers something for everyone - from cowboy boots to local handmade jewelry and antiques. A well-known Mecca for artists, Livingston boasts more galleries than stop lights - art enthusiasts especially will find plenty of interest.
