BOZEMAN, MT (January 10, 2023): Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (BZN) experienced another year of
record-breaking passenger growth and infrastructure development.
BZN handled an all-time record 2,264,424 passengers during 2022. This is a passenger increase of 16.7% over the previous record of 1,940,191 set in 2021. Over 40% of passengers traveling by air to or from Montana traveled through BZN in 2022. “BZN continues to see exceptional growth, creating economic opportunity for all of southwest Montana,” said Chief Executive Officer, Brian Sprenger.

Tower operations (landing or takeoff) at BZN decreased 4.3% to 111,062 compared to 116,055 in 2021. There were
183 general aviation international arrivals handled at BZN’s U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office during the year
compared to 107 during 2021.

Construction at BZN during 2022 continued at a record pace to further support increased passenger and aircraft traffic.
An $8 million expansion of the pay parking lot added nearly 40% more stalls allowing BZN to now accommodate over
3,500 vehicles. Along with parking lot improvements, BZN expanded the arrivals curb by nearly 300% in order to better
accommodate peak arrival times. Inside the terminal, construction of the new $23 million in-line baggage handling
system is underway with completion set for summer 2023. On the airside, BZN rehabilitated and expanded the terminal
apron to accommodate three additional 737-900 aircraft. BZN also completed a new ramp, roadway, and infrastructure
on the north side of the airport to serve our thriving and award-winning flight schools.



BZN is the seventh busiest airport in the 7-state Northwest Region of the country (region including Colorado, Utah,
Wyoming, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington) and the 92nd busiest airport in the nation in terms of passengers.
