Length: 6.1 miles
Trailhead: Look for the Avalanche Peak trailhead sign located near Eleanor Lake, between Fishing Bridge and the East Entrance on East Entrance Road. The trail starts on the north side of road.

Travel through old forests and burned areas to the 10,566-foot summit of Avalanche Peak. Enjoy the magnificent view of the landscape below including the Grand Tetons and Mount Sheridan to the south, Yellowstone Lake to the southwest, and the Absaroka-Beartooth mountains to the east. Best time to hike is between mid-July and August because of snow pack.
