Where to Grab a Breakfast Burrito in Montana's Yellowstone Country

Breakfast burrito

It's a common tradition in Montana's Yellowstone Country to grab a breakfast burrito before heading out to ski, hike, fish, bike, or enjoy a scenic drive. They make easy road food, and let's be real, nobody needs a hangry partner when you're out enjoying the great outdoors! Although it's not hard to track them down, we've complied a list of some of our favorites across the region. Enjoy!

In Bozeman, The Daily Coffee and Eatery has been serving delicious (and sizeable!)  burritos since 1993. They are in the Cannery District, which is convenient for those heading to Bridger Bowl Ski Area.

If you’re looking for a quick stop off I-90, Rise and Shine Bakery in Belgrade is known for its breakfast burritos. They open at 6 a.m. and have a grab-and-go case, or you can call ahead and have it ready. They have ten varieties and a specialty Burrito of the Week. The Porch at Nogans in Manhattan is more of a sit-down occasion, but they do put green chili in their burritos, so I might suggest it’s worth a stop. (Although, I’m sure they would happily create them to go.)

Another great roadside stop is Wheat Montana Deli and Bakery in Three Forks. It’s located on the turnoff to Helena if you’re headed in that direction. Their flour is milled from grain raised on the nearby farm, and they created one of the first farm-to-table products in the region. They also sell whole grains and various flours if you’re interested in taking some home!

The Wild Table, Red Lodge

In Four Corners, MoJava Coffee, a favorite coffee hut, also offers stellar burritos, and the drive-through makes it convenient for those in a hurry to get on the Gallatin or Madison Rivers. If you have time for a relaxing breakfast, Tru North Café in Livingston packs a mean punch in their burritos with eggs, potatoes, cheese, beans, pickled onion, fresh spinach and local maple sausage all grilled crisp. The Wild Table in Red Lodge does a delicious pulled pork breakfast burrito, and the Big Timber Bakery is worth a stop if you’re recreating around Big Timber.

In Gardiner, Bear’s Brew is the place to stop on your way into Yellowstone National Park, and if you’re entering the Park from the West Entrance in West Yellowstone, Mountain Mama’s Coffeehouse and Bakery uses locally-sourced wild game and vegetables!
