Black Mountain Outfitters offers summer vacation pack trips and day rides in the gorgeous Absaroka-Beartooth wilderness area. We camp in the Buffalo Fork of Slough Creek, just north of Yellowstone Park and are permitted by the US Forest Service to operate our camp. It's a deluxe backcountry camp, with gravity flow running water, hot showers, wood-fired rock sauna, and even a flush toilet. We are also permitted by the National Park Service to offer scenic day horseback rides in Yellowstone National Park. We also operate the only outfitter camp established and permitted on the banks of Slough Creek, fishing for world famous Yellowstone Cutthroat Trout.

We offer thrilling early rifle wilderness bugle season elk hunts from the same camps where we provide summer pack trips. A massive bull elk screaming and coming towards you on a high mountain peak is an unforgettable memory.

Outfitting is our only business. We will work hard to make your special trip the memory of a lifetime!
