Culinary Classes in Montana's Yellowstone Country

Spring is the time of year we look for other forms of entertainment, including one of our favorite pastimes: cooking! We are incredibly fortunate in Montana’s Yellowstone Country to have great restaurants, caterers, and private chefs, many of whom offer cooking classes monthly or sometimes weekly.

Here in YC, you’ll find culinary options that are as delightful as what you would expect in a big city. Bridger Kulinary Centre offers weekly classes on technique and flavor taught by some of Bozeman’s finest chefs. You’ll also get to peruse their showroom, and we can’t guarantee you will leave without kitchen-envy.

Also, in Bozeman, our favorite place to buy olive oil and gifts, Olivelle, offers classes such as West African Fusion, Thai and Italian. New schedules come out on the 15th of each month. La Cuisine, Bozeman’s newest kitchen store, also teaches various classes, which can be hands-on, partially hands-on or demonstration only. Bring a friend if you plan to participate or enjoy making a new acquaintance!

Bodhi Farms offers Farm-to-Fire cooking classes featuring wood-fired cuisine, wild game cooking, Dutch oven cooking, ash roasting, grilling and cedar planking. This all sounds delicious, and you can also tour the farm, have dinner at their restaurant or enjoy a massage or yoga pre-dinner.

If you’re hard-core about your meat, Wild Game Chef teaches three courses on butchering, processing and cooking wild meats. Techniques include browning, braising, brining, marinating, salting and seasoning. All on a variety of cookware.

Sage Lodge offers three different culinary experiences: cooking, pastry and mixology. If you haven’t yet stayed there, it’s a lovely getaway. It offers 360-degree views, stellar food, a hot tub with a view and fireplaces in every room. (*Note, these classes wrap up at the end of April, and will resume again in October!)

In Red Lodge, The Wild Table is one of our favorite places to eat, and the international cooking classes sound amazing: Turkish, Brazilian and Vietnamese, to name a few. Sign me up! Plus, you enjoy a sit-down dinner with your new friends and get a complete recipe packet to take home.

Big Sky Culinary Classes are a hands-on, chef-instructed culinary experience in your home! Date night, family night, any night!

Bon appétit!
